Clad in white from head to toe the O’Jays took to the revamped St Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival stage at Pigeon Island minutes after six.
Backed by a 10-member band they jumped right into their set literally with some tight choreographed steps and fancy footwork.
The band gave the crowd who some were waiting since 2 p.m songs from yesteryear and their latest singles. They took the audience on a Stairway To Heaven then told them Don’t Ever Think About Leaving.
Cofounder of the group Walter Williams Sr, Eddie Levert Sr and the newest and youngest member Eric K Grant thrilled the crowd with Love Train among others.
The group has been on the island for the pasy two days and this is their third visit. R. Kelly is the show’s closer.(NS)
