SOCIAL SCENE: Stars shine at film festival

The red carpet glowed with the glitz and glamour of patrons strutting their stuff on opening night of the third edition of the Barbados Independent Film Festival (BIFF) last weekend.

Hollywood actress Sigourney Weaver was there to receive a BIFF award. There too, were producers, directors and actors from some of the films that have been shown during the ten-day festival which ends today at 5:30 p.m. with an hour of short films about oceans and the final festival film Ghost Busters, on the Southern Palms Hotel Beach at St Lawrence, Christ Church.

Noted Barbadian film producers such as Alison Saunders, Rommel Hall and Damien Pinder as well as other personalities involved in culture and entertainment mingled with their visiting counterparts Friday night before sitting down for the premiere screening of filmmaker V Scott Balcerek’s Satan and Adam in the Walled Garden Theatre of the Museum.
