RIHANNA HAS registered yet another record-breaking mark by being among the top money earners from world music tours this year.
The Bajan sensation, currently on her annual Christmas visit back home, made US$90 million from her LOUD world tour – the seventh highest of 25 top artists and bands who took their musical performances across the world in 2011.
The 23-year-old was bettered by U2, Take That, Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, Roger Walters and the British-born veteran pop icon, Sir Elton John.
At the same time, she earned more than other mega pop acts like Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Katy Perry.
Rihanna’s LOUD tour, which comprised close to 100 arena dates, included a record-breaking ten sold-out concerts at London’s O2 arena as a result of high demand, the Rock In Rio headliner, and her first outdoor concert in Barbados at Kensington Oval on August 5. The tour showcased over two dozen of her biggest hits. (rihannadaily.com)
