Strong police presence in JA

So far so good.
That’s the sentiment of people on the streets of some parts of Jamaica today as they head to the polls.
Supporters of both parties, the Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) and the People’s National Party (PNP) have been driving up and down with car horns blaring.
According to election officials, the voting procedures have been flowing smoothly.
Some residents have opted not to vote saying that it doesn’t make a difference as the poor will remain poor. One woman by the name of Georgia says it’s time team Portia (Simpson Miller) take over the country. Another voter said he was casting his vote for Andrew Holness of the JLP.
A senior police officer from the May Pen Division said that from late last night there has been a strong police presence, adding this will continue into tonight well after the polling stations have closed.
The policeman said it has been quiet so far. He said officers will continue to be on alert after the polls close and the votes are counted.
