Why Durant got it wrong

In responding to an article carried in the WEEKEND NATION, Friday December 23, may I state that all of us have the privilege to address issues as we are led; however, we need to know that everything spoken by us will not be accepted.
To that end, I take issue with the article that was carried expressing Dr David Durant’s views, and I quote:  “That leaked letter that could have split the ruling Democratic Labour Party might make it stronger instead. I think it can be for the better; out of this can be an entirely stronger and more united force within the Democratic Labour Party going forward. It will rebound for the better.”
As I previously said, there has been a high level of mistrust among some within the Democratic Labour Party, who have been labelled by the NATION newspaper as The Eager 11. Ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ must be objective and realistic.
Higher calling
The Reverend Dr David Durant is seeing the picture through blinded eyes. What occurred by the ambitious few must be labelled. I wonder what senator Durant is afraid of. He will not be dropped!
He is a Government Senator, yes, but he is equally a servant of God and that is a higher calling. Therefore, I charge him to be real!
The same way some of the 11 were quick to declare, after the leak began to flow into the public domain – Not Me!  Why not those who were involved in requesting the urgent meeting with the Prime Minister before he left the island also declare that their actions were  out of order?
The Honourable Minister of Finance, Christopher Sinckler admitted that there was such a letter.
This letter was carried by the NATION newspaper, but there was no public apology.
The Honourable Prime Minister Freundel Stuart must take a stand against such behaviour; there must be a meeting to discuss the relevant matter(s) with everyone, and those within the group who have faltered, must admit their fault and say, “I am sorry”.
Careful decision
Forgiveness is given when we admit that we are wrong. That is how we receive salvation.
Dr David Durant said that the Prime Minister is a very humble man and a very good man. If this is indeed a fact, why then would some try to pull the carpet from under him?
Of course the Prime Minister has the right to take advice from whom he will, but I say to him, if he doesn’t take the necessary action now, the group will become bigger and stronger and they will bring him down (that is not a prophecy, but rather a word of wisdom and some common sense).
I will not elaborate on this statement, but contrary to popular beliefs by many preachers, may I state that Joseph and Daniel were not politicians; they were godly men living out their godly lives before ungodly kings, but the kings realized that they loved the Lord and that the God that they were serving, could not be surpassed.
The kings gave them high-level positions – Joseph was made prime minister and held the portfolios of commerce and agriculture, and economic and financial affairs.
Daniel was made President of the Senate; so I reinforce my point that they were not politicians. We cannot equate political matters with Christian matters; they are completely different as the North is from the South.
Joseph and Daniel were not lobbying for any position, they understood who they were; they were servants of the true and living God.
Their appointments were God-given positions.
