A POWDERED INFANT FORMULA, which Walmart hurriedly pulled from more than 3 000 of its stores in the United States because of health concerns, is not sold in Barbados.
Word of this came yesterday from Stokes & Bynoe, which said Enfamil PREMIUM® Newborn formula powder manufactured by Mead Johnson Nutrition “has never been imported by Stokes & Bynoe and does not form part of our portfolio”.
Stokes & Bynoe sent the comment to the SATURDAY SUN, along with a statement from the manufacturer following reports that an American newborn who was given the formula became gravely ill with a suspected bacterial infection. (TY)
