St Kitts former GG passes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas says he is “deeply saddened” at the death of Sir Clement Arrindell, the first Governor General of the twin island Federation.
Sir Clement died yesterday at the age of 79. The cause of death was not disclosed.
 The Prime Minister, who is in Canada on official business said he will issue a full statement later today.
Sir Clement, who was also served as the last Governor of St. Kitts and Nevis, post independence from 1980 to 1983 served until his retirement in 1996,
Before attaining the position of head of state, Sir Clement served as a magistrate here and in the British Virgin Islands and a judge of the West Indies Associated States Supreme Court. (CMC)
