Two of Reuben Bayley’s long-standing records were broken at Harrison College as Dalton House ran away with a fifth straight title at the Inter-House Track and Field Championships.
Ibrahim Hinds of Collymore clocked 1 minute 59.86 seconds, just within the 1:59.90 from 1980.
Senior victor ludorum Jerrad Mason of Armstrong also erased a 33-year mark. Bayley’s 2:04.60 from 1978 was removed from the books, replaced by 1:58.74. He is sole owner of the Under-17 record which Clint Lawrence had equalled in 1992.
The Under-20 girls’ 400m record which was held by Andrea Blackett is no more. Cherrisse Lynch of Armstrong won in 58.50 seconds, erasing the 59 seconds flat from 1993.
Dalton won the overall title for the fifth consecutive year with 1725 points, followed by Collymore (1440), Armstrong (1427.5) and Deighton with 850.5. (SAT)
