Last lap for junior calypsonians

The INFECTIOUS SOUNDS of calypso filled Frank Collymore Hall yesterday as the finalists in the Scotiabank Junior Monarch competition held their rehearsals.The juniors were hard at work getting themselves ready for the big finale on Saturday at the National Stadium immediately after Kiddies Kadooment.The public can get a preview of what to expect during the competition at a free lunchtime concert today at Frank Collymore Hall.In the eight-to-12 category, Ranesha Confetti Cummins, Nicholas Nik Roach-Holder, Ric-Anne Candy Princess Brathwaite, Rashad De Professor Weekes, Terig Adonis Linton, Everika Lil T Clarke-Weekes, Myles Myles Z Gittens and Jazz Jazz-Z Gittens will vie for the crown.Leah Leah Griffith, Gregerson Young G Abraham, Zahira Barbie Best, Jahlyn Jahailer Noel, Akila Latifa Small, Rabiah Small One Clarke and Aziza Lil Az Clarke, and reigning monarch Anita AC Charles will battle it out in the 13-to-18 category.
