Chairman of the Alexandra School, Keith Simmons, yesterday blasted Ministry of Education officials for their handling of the situation at the school.
“They were totally incompetent,” Simmons, a former Minister of Education, told a Commission of Inquiry at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.
Simmons, into his third day of testimony, said that during the recent impasse at the school he had written ministry officials on several matters which up to yesterday had not been dealt with.
He cited one regarding hockey coach Roger Broomes as an example.
Simmons said the ministry was written because the coach, who is cousin of school principal Jeff Broomes, had been involved in at least four disciplinary matters over a nine-month period.
