HUNDREDS CELEBRATED the 236th anniversary of America’s independence at a gala reception hosted by United States Ambassador Larry Palmer at the Wildey grounds of the embassy on Friday night.
The guests included Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave and Lady Belgrave.
The gathering enjoyed roast beef, popcorn, Kentucky Fried Chicken and cotton candy while the Royal Barbados Police Force Band played. Many took a “road trip across America”, viewing videos streamed throughout the evening.
Ambassador Palmer and Acting Prime Minister Richard Sealy both spoke of the historical ties between the United States and Barbados.
