Students of St Angela’s School who will be entering new schools in September were recently prepared for the transition in a ten-hour programme organized by FreeMind Institute.
The focus of the five two-hour sessions for 50 students was the power of choice. The students were encouraged to record their dreams, goals and ambitions and to recognize their potential to achieve them. They were also taught to balance their lives by including spiritual, mental, social, emotional, physical, financial and material objectives in their plans.
FreeMind’s founder Errol Griffith explained: “Our thinking is that the earlier any individual can truly appreciate that they have free will and the power to choose their actions and responses, they can better take full responsibility for their actions, regardless of what challenges they face.” (HM)
