T&T Parade

Date:

Share post:

Yesterday was Carnival Tuesday and the streets of Port-of-Spain buzzed with thousands of colourfully clad revellers making their way past the various judging points from early morning.
The day was humid, but the overcast conditions provided some relief for those dressed in full garb, and the beads and feathers group were cooler yet.
So far, Machel Montana seems to have the Advantage with the judging points, but Kes’ Wotless, Come To Meh by Iwer and Cassi’s Town Ting were some of the other popular songs masqueraders and onlookers wined and chipped to along the route.
After two days of mas’ all will be quiet today, Ash Wednesday, with many Trinidadians and visitors attending church or flocking to picnic spots.
Here, a bevy of carnival “babies” playing mas’ in a section of the band Survivor yesterday. (YB)
