Full-strength Pride upbeat

Buoyant with a full strength Barbados Pride team for the first time this season, coach Emmerson Trotman is confident but not complacent about today’s regional first-class clash with champions and front-runners Guyana Jaguars at Kensington Oval.

Speaking at the end of yesterday’s final practice session, Trotman told THE NATION he was delighted to have Test caps Jason Holder, Roston Chase, Kemar Roach and Shane Dowrich for the first time this season, joining Kraigg Brathwaite and Jomel Warrican, who played in the second round.

“I do have the best to choose from. I am not complaining about that. It is nice to have the top players around. We won our last match with a young squad, so we are going into this match with a bit of momentum, so everyone seems to be happy but not complacent,” he said.

Trotman said the return of the senior players had created a very favourable climate in the dressing room. (MK)
