Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin has described the killing of three men yesterday in the midst of the Christmas season as unfortunate.
He called on Barbadians to exercise restraint during the holiday period.
Dottin was reacting to the deaths of Sheldon Taylor, 26, of Lodge Road, Christ Church, who was shot while on a ZR; Christopher Charles, 24, of School Lane, Halls Road, St Michael, and Renaldo Jones, 22, of Kew Land, Redmans Village, St Thomas, who were linked to an alleged retaliation in a dispute.
“Things have been going very well up to now and Barbadians have been exhibiting restraint and good sense,” the top cop told the WEEKEND NATION yesterday.
“Its unfortunate at this stage we had two deaths arising out of a domestic dispute,” he added, a reference to the Jones/Charles killings.
He said it was regrettable that those involved could not have settled their differences without resorting to violence.
The police called on Barbadians to exercise restraint during the holiday season and into the new year.
They are also appealing to the public to come forward with information about Taylor’s death. (TS)
