Workers from several Government Departments housed in the old National Insurance Building on Fairchild Street, Bridgetown are off the job.
Reliable sources have told NATIONNews the Welfare Department, the Data Processing Department, the Barbados Statistical Service (BSS) and the Land Valuation Department are the departments so far affected by the action.
Employees have been complaining of a stench emanating out of the air conditioning ducts and sewerage system.
A few weeks ago, workers attached to the National Employment Bureau faced a similar problem and after they walked off the job, they had to be temporarily located to the Ministry of Labour, in the Warren’s Office Complex.
