Medical insurance a must for netball clubs

All clubs participating in the 2019 Barbados Netball Association’s (BNA) competitions will be required to have medical insurance. And it’s something the clubs wanted.

This was revealed by BNA president Nisha Craigwell during an interview with NATIONSPORT following resolutions passed during the annual general meeting recently.

“It’s coming under the association but it really came from our members because the persons that attended the meeting recognised the importance of having the insurance and we would have had quite a few seminars with the representatives of Sagicor so they know the importance of having the insurance,” she explained.

Craigwell indicated that a couple of years ago the Barbados Olympic Association had negotiated insurance for the associations affiliated with them and she viewed it as an good idea given the number of injuries netballers experienced during last year’s season. (RG)
