It could be a rough start to the New Year for commuters across Barbados.
That’s because a rallying call is being made to public service vehicle (PSV) workers to withdraw their services on Wednesday, as part of a resistance to a number of initiatives set to take effect early next year, including controversial new uniforms.
The call for industrial action was in a voice note sent out to all workers in the sector.
Chairman of the Association of Public Transport Operators (APTO), Morris Lee, said he was not surprised workers felt that way, even though he believed the sector remained committed to the thousands of Barbadians it serviced on a daily basis.
“To zero in on a uniform really does a disservice to the entire reason behind the energy that is there right now,” Lee told the DAILY NATION, when told about the possibility of industrial action. (BA)
