FLYING FISH & COU COU: Who will be chosen?

A new debate has started about who will be the second man or woman.
It had appeared, to all intents and purposes, to be a sealed deal, but the battle seems far from over, since a certain don – not in the Jamaican sense – and another contender are seeking to sink the hopes of the bossman’s first pick.
Then, of course, there is talk of the cow jumping over the moon, but that is another story.
In the meantime, a certain educated actor has the potential to teach them all a lesson since few can touch him when it comes to organization.
But, of course, no one knows what the bossman plans to do – if anything.
Waiting by the phone
Remember that saying made popular by the late kingpin, “ever so welcome wait for a call”?
Well, a certain roamer of sorts is waiting on a call he believes could edge an individual, whom he regards as a good man, to the victory pole.
In fact, this one-time champion of the rock was heard to say at a popular Saturday beehive haunt that he was disappointed this individual had yet to pick up the phone and give him a ring.
But maybe this individual is already loyal to one marshal, and just will not accept the badge of another.
As things turn out, Peter may very well pay for Paul.
Sink or swim
It seems no one is really confident of sinking the ambitions of the new financier on the block.
For while two lawyers and a wandering insurance executive have expressed an interest in the race, none of them have been brave enough to dirty their shoes by taking a walk across the farm.
For sure, it is known that one can handle a bat and ball, while another can handle piles of cases and, last but not least, the other can cook a good rice and stew.
But no one, it would seem, wants to be christened by a defeat.
Silent night
Talk in and out of Barbados is that a certain politico of sorts has gone strangely quiet.
With this guy being under the microscope for the handling of a recent regional affair, there is now concern that he may go straight to the cleaners if maximum effort is not put in.
This may result in this one-time ace up the sleeve being lost in the shuffle.
Surprise lead
Few predicted that this individual would garner so many votes at the last count.
But this politico has the ability to bury anyone in the sand – or, at the very least, cause them a lot of pain.
This has become even more evident with the high road the person is taking, compared with the low profile of another now in authority.
It seems only a matter of this individual maintaining a clean bill of health and securing a few big bucks to compete in what is expected to be a very expensive race in the country.
