Gail’s love for animals

Gail Hunte has always had a love for animals. When she moved to Barbados in 2009, she came with a mission to protect all kinds of animals and to raise awareness about best practices for them.

“I’ve always loved animals as a child. I moved to Barbados towards the end of 2009. . . .

“When I came to Barbados I was working in a special needs school. After that, I began to think to myself that there is no kind of magazine about animal care or welfare in Barbados,” she said.

Hunte came up with a plan to increase the knowledge of Barbadians far and wide about animals. This initial plan came in the form of a magazine specifically for animals.

“I spoke to a few people and asked them what they thought about the magazine and that’s how Animal Talk Magazine was born,” she said.

After that, the animal lover set out to form a charity aimed at protecting animals just a bit more. (DB)
