Sir David Seale has done it again.
The most successful horse owner in Gold Cup history won the prestigious race for the seventh time yesterday at the Garrison Savannah.
Aristodemus, a four-year-old chestnut colt, took the lead as the horses turned for home and was powered to victory by jockey Anderson Trotman.
Daga, one of the pre-race favourites, chased down the front-runner in the closing stages but Aristodemus held on to give Sir David his second successive triumph in the Sandy Lane-sponsored event.
Here, Sir David (in suit) joining trainer Liz Deane (second left) and his wife Lady Seale (left) in leading in Aristodemus – with Trotman on board – who has won five of his ten starts in Barbados.
