More seeking cancer support services

THE BARBADOS CANCER SUPPORT SERVICES is calling for financial assistance from corporate Barbados in an effort to effectively continue to lend support to Barbadians living with cancer. This was implored by assistant treasurer of the support services, Deborah Gittens, during a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) testing at the Valley Resource Centre in St George, where males in that community voluntarily received the test at a minimal fee.“We have received some assistance in the past but because of the number of services we provide, we always need funds. As an organisation we lend financial and counseling support to persons who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families,”
Gittens pointed out that the current economic climate has caused the organisation to see an increase in cancer patients seeking assistance every month. (AH)
