With winds of about 85 miles per hour, Haiti is bracing itself for some bad weather this morning from Hurricane Tomas.
A hurricane warning is now in effect for that country.
According to a bulletin from the National Weather Centre in Miami this morning at 11, a hurricane warning is also in effect for the souteastern part of The Bahamas and some parts of Cuba.
A tropical storm warning is also in effect for other parts of Cuba and Central Bahamas.
The tropical storm warning which was in effect for Jamaica, is now suspended.
