AFTER RUNNING THE RACE of her life over the Easter weekend, Coleridge and Parry student Sada Williams was made to feel like a queen today.
Williams didn’t have her gold and silver medals around her neck, but her exploits in Martinique at the 43rd CARIFTA Games were brought back to life at her school today.
The 16-year-old student from Kirtons, St Philip was feted by the St Peter institution. The entire roll packed into the school hall to hear tributes from principal Vincent Fergusson and coach Ramon Armstrong.
A recorded version of her gold medal-winning 400-metre performance earned a standing ovation. Williams also won a silver medal in the 200 metres in her games debut.
Williams and thrower Triston Gibbons, who also competed at the CARIFTA Games, were presented with special school ties for having represented Barbados. (BA)
