The Foreday Morning Jam has returned to its original Friday staging.
This was announced by Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley today at his Sky Mall Offices. The Minister said they decided to make the switch after consultation with stakeholders.
The jump up, which is traditionally held in the wee hours of the morning after the crowning of a new calypso monarch, was slated to be held on Saturday August 2.
As recently as Thursday during the annual Crop Over media briefing, Minister Lashley had stated it would remain on Saturday, as the Police said it was a security nightmare.
The Police Force are on board, but the Pic-O-De-Crop Finals will now commence at 7 p.m., one hour earlier, so there can be a prompt midnight start. (TS)
