THE SHORELINE from a section of Spring Garden Highway to the headquarters of the Barbados Coast Guard is being stabilized.
The Flour Mill Revetment and Rehabilitation Project, which started this month, is being carried out by Infra Inc.
Yesterday workers were at the site clearing away loose soil and stones and repacking the area with limestone and other materials. The coastal management project is being carried out in order to protect the shoreline against the battering its takes from the waves.
Operation director Jason Parkinson explained that the last such work on the area took place about 25 years ago. The project is expected to end by mid-2014.
