HE IS NOT a part-time lover. God gives us a choice to serve Him or the Devil. So, whose side are you on? Are you going to give God your entire life or just a part of it?
When Prophetess Advonda Small asked these questions last week, she must have made many ponder them in their hearts. However, at least two individuals did much more. They answered the call, walked up the aisle and asked Jesus to come into their hearts.
Small, whose ministry – God’s Vision of Prayer, Praise and Worship – meets each Sunday morning at the Barbados O Level Institute, has been conducting an open-tent crusade at Silver Sands, Christ Church, for over two weeks. Her sermon last Thursday night was titled Ripe and Ready For Harvest. She took her text from Joel Chapter 3.
Noting that “many persons today are in the valley of decision”, she told her listeners this was not a time to be getting ready for Jesus’ return but a time to be ready.
“When we look at the signs around us, there is no uncertainty that our redemption draweth near. God is closer than you think,” the Barbadian-born, United States-based minister said.
She told the congregation to take notice of how life had changed over the years, with same-sex marriage, children cursing their parents, and a general increase in lawlessness and immorality – all signs of the times.
She added, “We are living in a period of grace and it’s time to change, for time in running out.”
Small also noted that while “not even the angels know when Christ will return,” He will return as a thief in the night, catching many unaware and unprepared.
“It is not God’s will for any to perish. God so loved mankind, He sent His Son to die for us all,” she stressed.
During her passionate plea for everyone within earshot to accept Christ, Small further said: “Time waits for no man and there is no repentance in the grave. Repentance must take place while we are walking and talking. Nobody can pray you into Heaven after you’ve died. Now is decision-making time.
“Who are you going to serve? You are either born again or on your way to Hell. There is no in-between.
“It’s not about how much money you’ve got but coming to Jesus just as you are without one plea. There is no big sin or little sin. We are all sinners saved by grace.
