The Intimate Hotels Group of Barbados is being urged to support the manufacturing industry by purchasing local furniture, food, uniforms and other products.
This encouragement came yesterday during the launch of Phase 2 of the Barbados Manufacturers’ Association (BMA) brands of Barbados I Am Bajan campaign – I Am One Of Them, at the BMA’s Harbour Road headquarters.
Tracy Harris, representing the Intimate Hotels Group, said that the group’s new partnership with BMA on the initiative will see small hotels making a commitment to purchase local products, be it furniture, cleaning products or uniforms.
“Our first choice, whenever, will be local,” said Harris.
Harris said the campaign sought to make the group sit up, think and take notice of the richness of the manufacturing sector. (AH)
