PARK AND RIDE was in effect at a certain organisation last week as senior managers decided to take no chances and left their vehicles off the compound.
Workers were obviously amazed when the managers turned up for work on board a bus, but it was only later that day that it became apparent why they didn’t drive their luxury vehicles to work. Apparently, all hell broke loose during a high-level meeting when talks broke down and a big head honcho, who has the workers’ best interest at heart, angrily stormed out in disgust.
Workers now believe that their managers knew ahead of time what was going down and decided to park and ride just in case anyone decided to vent their angry feelings.
Connections pay off
STAFF who were laid off from a certain statutory organisation are hopping mad after learning that some of the letters were retracted.
From what we understand, certain employees with political connections were back on the job hours after they received their walking papers. But some staff are questioning the rehiring of an individual who walked back into the workplace with a huge grin on his face, letting everyone know that he was not easy to get rid of.
This individual, who likes to drop the name of his parliamentary representative, has the unenviable reputation of being a troublemaker and on more than one occasion got his hand caught in the cookie jar. Colleagues want to know what criterion was used to return this individual and they are all waiting to see who will be sent home as replacements for the staff who returned.
Comfort at a price
Legal eagles are finally feeling as if justice has been served.
We understand that an appeal was sent out for them to contribute monies to purchase much needed chairs for them to sit on at the Halls of Justice.
Apparently, the learned counsel had been complaining for a very long time about a shortage of seats in the seating area of the new Supreme Court Complex and many of them were less than comfortable sitting on the cold concrete slabs provided.
With Government doing nothing to solve the problem, the legal eagles finally took it upon themselves to do the dignified thing and pay for their own comfort.
Fraud hits new low
People are wondering how a very high-profile man who loves to promote himself on Facebook could use that forum to complain about a woman who borrowed money from him and didn’t pay back.
They find it very ironic that this same man went on a verbal rampage when his own financial deception was made public, but has now taken to a very public forum to highlight this situation, going as far as revealing the identity of the poor woman, calling her a fraud and directing his followers to her Facebook page.
We also understand that he has hired the services of a bailiff to go after the said woman.
What has people confused is that he is always on Facebook crying about how he has fallen on hard times, yet he found money to lend to a perfect stranger. And granted that his own financial discrepancies are hundreds of thousands of dollars, he has gone out of his way to vilify someone to whom he loaned a couple of “Grantleys”.
