MEMBERS OF the public were treated  to complementary therapy and products while experiencing a “little peace and calm for a short while” during Complementary Health Day 2010,  at the Ursuline Convent Schools, Collymore Rock,  St Michael, yesterday.
The event, organised by the Barbados Reiki Association, allowed “members of the community” to receive therapeutic treatments such as Reiki,  voice bio analysis, reflexology, Indian head massage, acupuncture, and DNA activation among others.
Vice-president of the Reiki association, Martha Isaac, said the annual event, which was in its fourth year, featured 20 booths. While she described the day’s activities as a means of giving back to the community, she encouraged “all to come out next year”.
“Reiki is an ancient Japanese therapy which induces healing, encourages relaxation through the gentle placing of the hands over the clients,” she said. (AH)
