FIRE BROKE OUT in an abandoned apartment building at Arch Cot Terrace, Britton’s Cross Road, St Michael, early yesterday morning.Residents said they noticed smoke coming from the ten-apartment building which has been unoccupied since the collapse of another set of apartments three years ago, when a family of five lost their lives. Two fire tenders responded to the call and quickly extinguished the blaze which damaged a wardrobe and the roof of the building.Concerned residents from the surrounding area complained about the constant presence of intruders into the fenced compound. One resident expressed fears about likely criminal activity in the deserted area where nearly all the houses are unoccupied.
