THERE IS no more space for food spaces in next year’s Agrofest slated for Queen’s Park in the City.
Word of this has come from Agrofest coordinator Theodore Fraser, who said “35 food spaces have been booked and no further accommodations can be made in this section”.
The co-ordinator explained that since the Agrofest secretariat invited exhibitors and vendors to come in and sign up between July 5 and August 26, approximately 91 people had registered to be exhibitors.
Pointing out that exhibitors in the craft, fruits and vegetables sections had shown keen interest at an earlier point when compared with previous years, Fraser said that “to date quite a few persons had signed up for these sections”.
“The level of response for exhibition spaces so far has outshadowed previous years, and projections so far are that we will have quite a few more exhibits than we had last year which also had its own record for number of exhibits,” Fraser added.
He stated: “As a result of this, we will have to be very creative in how we go about allocating spaces so that we maintain the high standards set for the exhibition, and secondly,  in trying to meet the increase in demand for the limited space we have.”
Come early
However, Fraser cautioned those who were interested in being a part of Agrofest 2011 “to come in as soon as possible and register in order to secure a space.
“The phenomenal response we are seeing can only be attributed to the fact that exhibitors identify with the event and continue to believe that it is an excellent opportunity to market their products and services to a wide cross section of the Barbadian public, and of course our overseas guests,” he said.
