WORKERS AT THE NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT BUREAU (NEB) – a branch of the Labour Department – have threatened to stay off the job until issues relating to air and water quality in the building are addressed.
Close to 21 Government workers walked off the job yesterday morning, complaining of a foul smell, reported to be coming from the air-conditioning vents in their department, located on the second floor of the old National Insurance Scheme (NIS) building on Fairchild Street, Bridgetown.
The employees said they were fed up because for more than a year now they have been complaining to management about the problems.
