Rawle Eastmond, as promised, was nowhere to be found.
Douglas Skeete? He came up just short.
And as a result of Eastmond’s no-show at the highly anticipated nomination meeting for the St James North constituency, Hinkson is the Barbados Labour Party’s (BLP) new choice to run in the next general election.
Eastmond, a five-consecutive-time winner of the seat, had said a week earlier he would rather be the party’s sacrificial lamb than be part of an “impure” process that involved a padded voters’ list.
He was sacrificed yesterday, in his absence.
