GOLD CUP WINNER Aristodemus makes a return to racing tomorrow at theGarrison Savannah.
The Sir David Seale-owned colt competes against eight others in the seventh race on the eight-race card which is set to get rolling at 1:45 p.m.
The fourth day of the Barbados Turf Club’s second racing season has been labelled Paying Tribute To The Heritage Of The Garrison Savannah Historic Area Race Day.
Long before the Sandy Lane Gold Cup winner graces the track, there will be several races which will command the public’s interest.
The first of those races is the second of the afternoon, the Bungalow Handicap for horses three years and older rated 65-85 and also open to horses rated 64 and below over 1 800 metres.
Top weight in this event goes to Blue Diamond Racing-owned Captain Sully, who is being asked to shoulder 130 pounds and whose last two efforts have yielded out-of-the-money performances.
He is fancied to have a nice chance here even though this field is filled with stayers.
Roars, taking 125, and Reward Me, carrying 111, have each recorded a win in their last two outings
One race which will attract plenty of attention is race five, the Clock Tower Handicap over 1 100 metres for three years and older horses rated 72-95 and also open to horses rated 71 and below.
Top of the weight category goes to the Sir Charles Williams-owned Slip Stream at 133 pounds. Her form has been modest with a fourth place finish in the Sandy Lane Spa Sprint over 1 100 metres being her most significant performance of note.
Two other Spa Sprint runners are entered, those being Run Alke Run (132) and Nomoreginrog (123). They are both in with very nice chances.
The real interest however, surrounds the Joanne Parravicinio-owned juvenile Seattle Sunshine as she goes after her third win on the trot. She is down to shoulder 125 pounds and will meet her toughest opposition to date.
Her times have been impressive and once she continues to improve a very bright future is in the forecast.
Indian Soul was an upset winner last race day going off at the handsome odds of 26-1. She could very well be out in the betting again but a completely different result seems possible as she is now matched with tougher company.
The day’s action closes off with the Pavilion Court Handicap for three-year and older horses rated 40-60 and also open to horses rated 39 and below over 1 570 metres.
Round Table Stud Farm’s Fernandina gets the top weight of 130 pounds. Her competition should also come from last time out winners Memory Lane (116) and Wild Orchid (118).
Consideration should also be given to Vandross (127), Steppin Razor (126), Domineering (123) and Just Jiving (126).
