The Barbados Revenue Authority has released a statement about their late opening this morning.

The following is the full statement:

This morning, the supervisor on duty at the Pine had to leave immediately on arrival to deal with a family emergency. During the period of time that the Authority was trying to find a replacement supervisor for the Pine there were a number of taxpayers at the location.

At this current time, the majority of licensing transactions require supervisory intervention, therefore the Pine location could not open until a supervisor came to cover the operations there. In an attempt to safeguard and secure the location during that time, taxpayers were not allowed to enter the office. The Authority regrets the inconvenience caused as a result of this delayed opening. (PR)
