Chargers hold volleyball advantage

THE Cooperators General Insurance 2010 Junior Volleyball Knockout Competition served off over the weekend with the home court providing an advantage for British American Insurance Chargers.
Playing at Hill Road, Chargers women came from a set down to stop Erdiston Rockets 26-28, 25-11, 15-11 with their male counterparts dismissing TeleBarbados Carlton 25-16, 25-16.
Hill Road was not a happy venue for Carlton as their women were defeated by LIME 23-25, 14-25. 
Ironically, LIME was reconstructed by a mass defection of players from Carlton.
Carlton had also lost to O-Aces women in a previous encounter at Free Hill 9-25, 19-25. 
The Carefree Toners welcomed Northliners back to competition with a 25-9, 25-12 drubbing. 
O-Aces men could not hold off Progressive going down to the men from St George 18-25, 13-25.
Defending champions Deacons scored two victories on their court with Deacons men beating Carlton 25-19, 25-18, and Deacons women stopping the Rockets 25-21, 25-20. Foundation United defeated the Combined Schools 25-23, 25-22. (KB)
