One of Barbados’ oldest nightclubs and entertainment spots is calling it a day.
The popular Ship Inn at St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church, will close its doors next Wednesday after 37 years in operation.
Managing director Graham Turner told the WEEKEND NATION that some local investors had recently bought the property which housed the entertainment and dining business, and attracted some of Barbados’ leading bands and entertainers over the past three decades.
“Everything is for a time and of course it is going to be a sad occasion to say goodbye,” Turner said.
He also noted the decison to sell the property was one taken by his partners several years ago and had nothing to do with any downturn in business.
