There was much hob-nobbing as educators from the Caribbean got together for the opening ceremony of the 35th Biennial Conference of the Caribbean Union of Teachers at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
Before settling down to serious discussion of educational matters, delegates from Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, St Lucia, St Vincent and Barbados were welcomed to Barbados by president of the Barbados Union of Teachers Karen Best, while Minister of Education Ronald Jones, UNICEF representative for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Tom Olsen and Virginia Albert-Poyotte, EI regional coordinator, brought greetings.
Social Scene’s lens were focussed on participants as they enjoyed cocktails following the opening ceremony.
