Displaying the poise and calm of a West Coast Beach, the St Peter ambassadors, Debra-Lee Grant and Ricardo Marshall scored a repeat for their parish after they captured the Ambassadors of the Year Award when the Spirit of the Nation Show was staged at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex last night.
The combined points from the project, Project 911: Breathing Heritage into Our Lives plus their formal wear and costumes saw the St Peter duo living the biblical phrase of the” last shall be first” as they appeared on stage in the 11th spot of every event.
With Cheri Boyce taking the Attendant of the Year Award, the clean sweep was carried out by St Peter who had captured those three titles last year.
Minutes after the Minister of Youth, Family and Sports Stephen Lashley presented the awards to Grant and Marshall, hundreds of balloons were dropped from the roof as fireworks were triggered in unison with the thunderous supporting screams of the parishoners from St Peter who had thronged the gym looking for the repeat.
First runners-up were Renaldo Yarde and Anecia Farley of St George, followed by Sheldon Marshall and Andree Hunte of St Philip with Jamar Mayers and Shakira Chase of St Joseph taking the third runners-up spot.
