With the Independence weekend swiftly approaching, everyone will be trying to get their hands on pumpkins to make the popular Bajan delicacy conkies.
The all-important ingredient for making the tasty dish could be found in abundance at the stall of a roadside vendor – she only gave her name as Sharon – who sells a variety of fruits and vegetables in Warrens, St Michael.
Though she admitted that sales were “not the best”, Sharon was happy to show off her bountiful harvest of belly pumpkins. (LK)
