A better batting performance.
That’s what the coach of the Barbados cricket team, Hendy Springer, insists is necessary if the home side is to emerge victorious against Guyana in their second round clash in the WICB regional four-day competition starting today at Kensington Oval.
Barbados’ batsmen turned in a disappointing performance in last weekend’s opening round match against Jamaica, being dismissed for 162 and 128 to lose by 63 runs inside three days.
Springer said more dedication was needed from the top order if Barbados are to be competitive against Guyana.
“Obviously we have to bat a lot better than we did [against Jamaica],” he told WEEKENDSPORT during a practice session at Kensington Oval yesterday.
