Garcia’s day

Immigration detainee Raul Garcia will know on the eve of election day if he will be given his freedom in Barbados.
When his application for a writ of habeas corpus concluded in the No. 6 Supreme Court yesterday, High Court judge Justice Margaret Reifer said she would give her decision on February 20.
Garcia is contesting his continued detention at a safe house.
Yesterday his attorney at law David Comissiong harshly criticized Principal Crown Counsel Donna Brathwaite for what he called “90 minutes of mind-numbing commentary” on Monday about two meetings with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
