Two parents are calling for transparency from the new executive of the Barbados Amateur Swimming Association (BASA).
Emphasizing that it was not just about their daughter Sariyah, Joanne and Stefan Sherry were prompted to act after being informed that she had not been nominated by BASA for the recently announced 2012 National Sports Council (NSC) Awards.
It has been almost six weeks since they wrote two letters (January 2 and February 2) requesting a meeting with the executive to discuss the nomination process, but have received no official response.
Three others were nominated. Sariyah was nominated by others and received an appreciation award as surfer Chelsea Tuach took the honours.
