The traditional and the modern came together for a one-of-a-kind wedding when Jonathan Reid married Amanda Lynch-Foster on December 4.
At the ceremony held at St James Parish Church, Barbados’ oldest church, the bride walked up the aisle in a modern hand-dyed dress and veil by Shakad Designs, with matching jewellery by Aziza Onifa.
Amanda is a media specialist at the US Embassy, while the groom is an account executive at G4S security company. He complemented his bride in a bespoke navy blue suit by local designer Rojoe.
The reception was held at the Atlantis Hotel in St Joseph where guests were treated to a menu blending the couple’s St Lucian and Barbadian heritage. Female guests then swapped their high heels for much-appreciated wedding favours – slippers – for a long night of dancing to the DJ’s music and the crashing sound of the Atlantic ocean waves on that coast. The couple honeymooned in Miami, Honduras and Mexico.
