Rough seas ahead

Boat owners and sea bathers are urged to take precaution as rough seas are expected to affect Barbados from noon tomorrow.
The Barbados Meteorological Office today issued a high surf advisory and small craft warning, which extends until Thursday.
The advisory said a low-pressure centre moving over the central North Atlantic is generating some large northerly sea swells some of which are spreading into the area of the Eastern Caribbean, and will begin to impact the coastal waters of Barbados by tomorrow afternoon.  Swells are forecasted to range between ten to 13 feet.”
The high-surf advisory means seas will generate large breaking waves and dangerous rip-currents along the coastal waters of Barbados and small-craft operators should therefore avoid navigating in these adverse conditions.
