Barbadians are being cautioned not to be unprepared for the upcoming hurricane season which starts on Friday.
With predictions of a below average hurricane season it would be easy for people to become complacent., officials say.
This was the word from the Executive Director of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) Jeremy Collymore as he addressed the media during CDEMA’s annual press conference at its Manor Lodge, Warrens, St Michael headquarters, today.
Collymore indicated that CDEMA has already started its regional exercise programme to “check how our systems are working; how we get information to and from countries and the effectiveness of the contact information provided.”
