There is no contention between the former contenders for the post of Bishop of Barbados and the man chosen for the position.

In fact, both Dean of the Cathedral of St Michael and All Angels Dr Jeffrey Gibson and Rector of St George Parish Church Reverend John Rogers have offered their congratulations to Reverend Michael Maxwell, rector of Holy Trinity Church, who was unanimously chosen by provincial House of Bishops.

“I would like to take the opportunity to extend heartiest congratulations to Father Michael Maxwell, the Bishop designate of Barbados,” Gibson told THE NATION when contacted on Saturday.

Rogers said he, too, had already contacted and congratulated Maxwell on his selection as bishop, adding that he believed the Holy Trinity Church rector was very capable of doing the job. (AD)
