The GOAL project is back on again.
Phase two of the contentious venue building initiative at Wildey, St Michael, is slated to resume in two weeks after the football project had to be stalled when it was discovered that works encroached on lands belonging to the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).
Barbados Football Association (BFA) president Randy Harris gave the assurance following recent talks with the world governing body FIFA, who mandated that the BFA offices be built as the next phase of the project.
“We have received permission, we have resited the position of the offices and now we are all set to go, so this should be completed by the latest [in] February 2014,” Harris said.
“We got together with the principals who were contracted by FIFA because we had to reduce the scope of the project and they agreed to assist the BFA so the works would fall inside the budget of what we have left from FIFA.
“We also got some assistance from the Ministry of Sports and an assurance from all involved that we can get everything done to meet our finances.”
