THE DARREN MATTHEWS SHOW looks to be a hit on the road too.
Local cycling’s boy wonder continues to prove he’s not just a marvel in Barbados, having recorded an impressive third-place finish at Sunday’s K W Classic Road Race Ontario Cup in Canada.
It was just another international podium finish for the national road race champ, who won his last two starts at home, including last month’s point-to-point 100k event.
And the 21-year-old Matthews looked primed for another distance win, breaking away from the peloton with Canadians Anton Varabei and Chris Freeland just four laps into the 28-lap race before the trio lapped the entire field.
